چکیده
Phthalates are widely used in consumer products. Exposure to phthalates can lead adverse health effects humans, with early-life exposure being of particular concern. Phthalate occurs mainly through ingestion, inhalation, and dermal absorption. However, our understanding the relative importance different routes is incomplete. This study estimated intake five from residential indoor environment for 455 Swedish pregnant women SELMA using phthalate mass fraction dust compares these total daily intakes back-calculated metabolite concentrations women's urine. Steady-state models were estimate air measurements. Intakes made meaningful contributions more volatile di-ethyl (DEP), di-n-butyl (DnBP), di-iso-butyl (DiBP) (11% DEP 28% DnBP DiBP combined). Dermal absorption was dominant pathway contributing environmental exposure. Residential less minor intake. These results suggest that reducing presence low molecular weight meaningfully reduce among women.

The study is a part of an ongoing prospective cohort study on the relationship between the exposure to environmental factors during pregnancy and birth outcomes and health of newborns. We have measured personal PM(2.5) level in the group of 407 non-smoking pregnant women during the 2nd trimester of pregnancy. On average, the participants from the city center were exposed to higher exposure than...
متن کاملCharacterization of Phthalate Exposure among Pregnant Women Assessed by Repeat Air and Urine Samples
BACKGROUND Although urinary concentrations of phthalate metabolites are frequently used as biomarkers in epidemiologic studies, variability during pregnancy has not been characterized. METHODS We measured phthalate metabolite concentrations in spot urine samples collected from 246 pregnant Dominican and African-American women. Twenty-eight women had repeat urine samples collected over a 6-wee...
